Its light weight and good balance - previous reciprocating saw was heavy and swung down at the end of a pruning cut with risk of cutting my leg.
Its safety switch. -previous saw had none and if it swung down, the motion would cause the trigger finger to compress the switch and start saw
A cheaper 8 AH battery. The two 2AH batteries bought with the kit are kept busy on their own
